Lunchbox #145

Today, my preschooler's lunch featured (clockwise):

  • Sliced mini peppers
  • Shredded grassfed beef roast
  • Mustard, for dipping
  • A boiled egg
  • Two Clementines
  • A coconut manna cup - I melted dark chocolate into the bottom of a silicone muffin cup, added a few chunks of coconut manna and a walnut, and toped with chocolate again before allowing it to set in the freezer

  3. How on earth do you get your preschooler to eat Paleo? My barely-3-year-old subsists on noodles (plain) and gummy vitamins :( I'm glad I've found your site - I guess I'll be reading through your archives!

  4. Hi, Jessica! Welcome. :) I would say that the number one aspect that helped us is serving/repeating stuff she likes for sure, but also adding something new to the rotation on a regular basis - and we keep what works, chuck what doesn't.

Also, it is noteworthy that my oldest has always had a fairly adventurous palate, even prepaleo. That said, it's great to introduce bites in various taste and texture ranges (sourkraut for sour, grapefruit for tart, increasingly darker chocolate for bitter, for some examples) to help to foster appreciation for a wide variety - something that I've kind of had to do as an adult for myself, as well! :)
